Accountability Court on Saturday directed National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to provide all documents including the reference in Rs 5 billion corruption case against former Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon and others to the accused. Sharjeel Memon and other accused appeared before the court during hearing the reference filed by NAB against the former minister and others for misuse of power and authority and embezzlement of Rs 5 billion in distribution of government advertisements.

Defence counsel said that NAB had not provided to the accused all the documents relating to the reference. He took the stance that until and unless all documents were not provided to the accused, they could not be indicted in the case. Memon counsel said that some 17 people had been named as accused in NAB reference and "we don't know which accused the NAB prosecutor is talking about." He complained that they faced difficulties in finding relevant pages from the reference documents as it did not contain ledger.

The court after hearing arguments of defence counsels directed NAB's investigation officer in the instant matter to appear before the court during next hearing. The court also directed the bureau to provide all documents to the accused. The court adjourned further hearing of the case till May 30.
